“Texts On English Literary Criticism” Taken from the flap of the book:
The book is a collection of fifteen English critical essays ranging from Philip Sidney to Terry Eagleton—from the Elizabethan to the Post-modern Age. The essays have been arranged so as to reflect the gradual development of English literary criticism as a discipline. These treatises representing critical views of their respective ages are philosophical in essence, polemical in nature and indicative of the social and aesthetic evolution. They help students trace the turns in the growth of English literature and criticism.
